I knew it was happening. You can see evidence on the blog. Apple cider rum drinks. Cake balls. Ice cream and brownies. Pizza.
The inevitable few pounds you gain in the dark cold days of winter have made their presence known. My pants started getting a little tight. But when my elastic running shorts were snug - that is what we call rock bottom people.
Thanks to running and, for the most part, healthy breakfasts and lunches during the week, things aren't too out of hand. I've returned to my faithful friends over at sparkpeople to help me again reacquaint myself with normal portion sizes and calorie counts. It's painful.
If you need me, I'll be carefully measuring out my hummus and fruit.
Namath was none too pleased. Read: he nearly broke the coffee table attempting to free himself from the horrors of a t-shirt.
The stretched-to-capacity-t-shirt was less than thrilled as well.
Speaking of lucky, I have the best in-laws ever.
It was all about the cake and presents. And who doesn't love cake and presents?
Because it's so easy to become distracted.
Especially when there are clothes involved that have to be tried on immediately.
We had a great time watching her enjoy the day. The end.
We laugh that she is SO different from her older sister. Very Type B to big sisters Type A. But she can hold her own when big sister gets a little too bossy. 
This girl loves to eat and loves some sweets. I can't wait to see her dig into that cake this weekend. Let's face it, I can't wait to dig in either.

Friday, MS took me to a new (to Birmingham) restaurant that opened recently - Mugshots. The best sandwiches and burgers! The wait was long, but we sat at the bar and relaxed with a drink (or two) after a long week. Sometimes a little bit of a wait with a good drink makes it seem more like an evening out. Probably not a great pre-10k plan, but birthdays are much more important than 10ks anyway. Right?
